Tim Martin is the founder and CEO of MartialQuest LLC. A military veteran with over 27 years of service, Tim has been studying the martial arts since his childhood and is currently a purple belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu under Ricardo Bayona of Miloki Flow Key Biscayne.
Although MartialQuest LLC is newly formed, Tim’s training in the martial arts began over 30 years ago while growing up in rural Georgia. In his teenage years he earned a Dan ranking in the international style of Tae Kwon-Do. Following his enlistment into the US Army in 1990, Tim continued to pursue his passion for training in the martial arts whenever and wherever possible. His martial arts experience has included instructor rankings in Genbukan Ninpo Taijutsu and Pukulan Pentjak Silat Serak. Additionally, Tim has studied the Russian Martial Art of Systema, Okinawan Karate, Filipino Martial Arts and Jun Fan Gung Fu through the lineage of Guro Dan Inosanto, and the Francis Fong – Jiu Wan lineage of Wing Chun while attending college near his hometown.
He began his jiu jitsu journey in 2007 at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA, and since that time has trained with many members of the Gracie and Machado families to further his understanding of jiu jitsu. Today, he continues his training with his primary mentor, instructor, and Gracie Academy Black Belt, Ricardo Bayona, of Miloki Flow Key Biscayne.
Tim’s passion for the martial arts also extends to sharing his training and experiences with others. It is his belief that the martial arts are a valuable vehicle for improving and developing oneself to reach their maximum potential. He sees it as a powerful, life-changing gift for all ages to teach empowerment, confidence, self defense, and overcoming adversity.
In 2017 Tim founded MartialQuest LLC as a veteran-owned business to further his interests in the martial arts and provide visionary products and services to the public. Currently, he is focusing much of his attention on the design and development of the company’s products and services.
